What belongs in a metals RFQ
- Named standard, size or chemistry (not only a product nickname)
- Quantity, packing and delivery window
- Destination and Incoterm with a named place
- Whether mill test certificates, inspection, or both are required
- Origin constraints if they affect eligibility
Quality and inspection
Mill test certificates speak to heat or lot chemistry. A surveyor can confirm quantity, packing and sometimes sampling. The contract should say which document binds quality if they disagree.
